Procurement Category Manager

About the role

Join Simplot’s Global Indirect Procurement team as a Procurement Category Manager based at Chifley Park in Mentone (regional flexibility considered). Reporting to the Procurement Senior Category Manager APAC, you will lead category planning and sourcing across a diverse indirect procurement portfolio for the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies that deliver cost optimisation and long‑term commercial outcomes.
• Lead end‑to‑end sourcing activities including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, negotiations and contract development.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of indirect categories such as capital projects, engineering services, uniforms, pest control and quality testing.
• Conduct spend, market and should‑cost analyses to inform sourcing decisions.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to ensure performance, service, quality and cost commitments.
• Collaborate with global procurement teams and cross‑functional stakeholders to share best practices and support projects.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement, category management or strategic sourcing.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship‑building skills with the ability to influence at all organisational levels.
• High emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate challenging conversations.
• Demonstrated ability to develop procurement strategies and deliver commercial outcomes in a complex environment.
• Experience working independently, taking ownership and identifying value‑creation opportunities.
• Comfortable working across different cultures, countries and time zones.
