Transition Project Manager – ICT

About the role

The role is a temporary position (until July 2027) within the Road Safety Systems Program, responsible for managing the transition of an ICT change package from project to operational service. Reporting to the RSSP Program Manager, the manager will follow PRINCE2 and Agile governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate design, development and validation of the Target Operating Model with SMEs and stakeholders.
• Develop transition plans, communication documentation and support the procurement and onboarding of a Managed Service Provider.
• Plan and coordinate “transition‑in” activities, establish IT support models and new ways of working.
• Manage risks, issues, dependencies and provide regular status reporting.
• Lead organisational change activities, including communications, business readiness, documentation, knowledge transfer and performance monitoring.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in ICT project delivery, preferably within Queensland Government or large organisations.
• Experience managing transition of enterprise software to operations with a Managed Service Provider.
• Demonstrated ability to work with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.

Required skills

• PRINCE2 Foundation certification (PRINCE2 Practitioner desirable).
• ITIL certification.
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM).
• Recent experience with cloud solutions, particularly AWS, and commercial off‑the‑shelf (COTS) products.
