Director, Data & AI Practice

About the role

As a Director in PwC Australia’s Data & AI practice, you will lead large‑scale data and AI transformations for clients, primarily in the Energy and Mining sectors. You will combine consulting expertise with deep technical knowledge to advise senior stakeholders and deliver production‑grade solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior executives in Energy and Mining.
• Lead end‑to‑end Data & AI engagements from strategy through design, engineering, implementation and production deployment.
• Advise on data architecture, platforms, operating models and technology choices, including modern cloud ecosystems.
• Shape and deliver AI solutions covering machine learning, Generative AI and emerging agentic AI patterns.
• Coach multidisciplinary teams of architects, data engineers, AI engineers and data scientists.
• Drive business development by identifying opportunities, shaping propositions and delivering proposals.

Required profile

• Proven experience building executive relationships in Energy and Mining.
• Track record of winning and delivering complex consulting engagements using data and AI.
• Strong commercial mindset and ability to translate technology decisions into business outcomes.
• Experience leading large, multidisciplinary teams in a consulting or engineering environment.

• Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or equivalent data platforms
• Data engineering, data pipelines and modern data architecture
