Information Security Engineer

About the role

The Information Security Engineer will own the cyber security posture of Torrens University institutions, working closely with security, IT, and business stakeholders to identify, analyse, and remediate threats.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, operate and monitor security infrastructure, platforms, applications and tools.
• Conduct vendor security assessments and manage remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and respond to security threats using tools such as Nexpose, Cisco AMP, Cisco IDS and Cisco Umbrella.
• Collaborate with technical managers, software development and IT operations to mitigate technology risks across the enterprise.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.
• 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security analysis, engineering, research or consulting.
• 5+ years of networking experience, preferably with Cisco technologies.
• Proven ability to assess vulnerabilities with industry‑standard tools and manage incident remediation.

Required skills

• Cisco networking and security technologies (AMP, IDS, Umbrella).
• Vulnerability assessment tools such as Nexpose.
• Experience with endpoint protection and email‑based threat detection.
• Strong understanding of enterprise, network, system/endpoint and application security.
