Tow Truck Operator / Driver

About the role

Join NRMA as a Tow Truck Operator, providing roadside assistance and towing services across Australia. You will work from the Prestons depot, delivering safe and professional vehicle recovery while representing the NRMA brand.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to road service calls, load, transport and unload vehicles in a professional manner.
• Analyse breakdown situations, determine the safest recovery method, and secure vehicles according to tow truck regulations.
• Communicate clearly with members throughout the recovery process to ensure safety and excellent customer service.
• Maintain tools, uniforms and equipment to a high standard.
• Participate in working groups, toolbox talks and committees to improve operations.

Required profile

• Valid NSW Medium Rigid Driver’s Licence (or higher).
• Valid Tow Truck Driver’s Certificate or eligibility to obtain one before starting.
• Flexibility to work rotating 12‑hour shifts across a 7‑day week, including public holidays.
• Strong customer service orientation and ability to work with diverse communities.
• Commitment to safety procedures and safe work practices.

Required skills

• NSW Medium Rigid Driver’s Licence.
• Tow Truck Driver’s Certificate.
