Tourism & Major Events Partnerships Officer

About the role

The Economic Development branch of the Council is seeking a Tourism & Major Events Partnerships Officer to support investment attraction, commerce, and flagship events across the Sunshine Coast. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to position the region as a premier destination and deliver measurable economic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the administration and systems for major events and partnership programmes.
• Produce performance reports, insights and data visualisations for senior decision‑makers.
• Manage a detailed event budget, track outcomes and ensure financial accountability.
• Identify, develop and nurture new partnership opportunities for tourism and major events.

Required profile

• Proactive project professional with experience in tourism, events or economic development.
• Strong analytical and organisational abilities, capable of handling competing priorities.
• Excellent communicator who can build relationships and provide clear, professional advice.
• Detail‑oriented and comfortable working with data‑driven processes.
