Territory Sales Representative, Automotive Aftermarket

About the role

3M is hiring a Territory Sales Representative for its Automotive Aftermarket division, based in North Ryde. You will be responsible for a regional sales territory, including overnight travel, and will spend 80% of your time face to face with end-user customers. The position is permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Increase the penetration of Automotive Aftermarket products and exceed the sales forecast for your territory.
• Drive sales across the transportation industry through strong head office promotional calendars.
• Identify and prioritise market segment and alternative channel opportunities, which may include marine and commercial vehicle.
• Prepare and execute the annual sales plan and support it through the AAD distribution network.
• Foster strong relationships with key account contacts at head office level.
• Take responsibility for other products or projects as required.

Required profile

• Higher School Certificate or equivalent; no tertiary qualification required.
• Cert III in Paint Technician or Panel Beater Technician (preferred).
• At least 2 years in a professional sales role; industrial sales experience preferred.
• Strong and consistent recent sales results.
• Previous supervisory responsibility preferred, though a passion for developing it is essential.
• Knowledge of industrial products or terminology is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong selling and key account management skills.
• High computer literacy, including Microsoft Word, Excel analysis and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal communication, presentation and listening skills, attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
