Technology Manager – Digital Mental Health Systems and Platforms

About the role

St Vincent's is seeking an experienced Technology Manager to lead the transition from project delivery into sustainable, business-as-usual operations for the digital platforms behind Australia's Medicare Mental Health Check-In initiative. Reporting to the Service Director, the role designs the operating model and builds and leads a technology team of about four to six people, covering service reliability, vendor performance, security compliance and future improvements. It is a full-time, maximum-term position of 24 months, with hybrid working and a minimum of two days per week in the office, based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the transition from project delivery to operations, including operating model design, knowledge transfer, documentation, handover and continuity planning.
• Recruit and lead a technology team with expertise in cloud engineering, development, operations, data analytics, reporting and business analysis.
• Oversee reliability, availability, performance and incident management of cloud infrastructure, applications, integrations and public-facing services.
• Manage external technology partners, including SLAs, contracts, commercial arrangements and issue resolution.
• Lead government security compliance, including the Australian Government Information Security Manual, the Essential Eight, annual security attestation and disaster recovery assurance.
• Establish and improve incident, problem, change and configuration management processes.
• Plan and deliver platform improvements and releases while maintaining service continuity.
• Build relationships with technology, clinical and operational teams, suppliers and the Department of Health and Aged Care, and support governance, risk, reporting and audit readiness.

Required profile

• Proven experience moving complex digital services from project delivery to sustainable operations; this is essential.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex environments with multiple suppliers.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• Experience in healthcare technology, Microsoft Dynamics 365, data platforms or relevant certifications is highly regarded.
