About the role
Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) is looking for a high-energy Software Engineer to drive improvements and the successful delivery of its Wagering Platform. You will take part in designing and developing critical software systems, contribute to continuous improvement across business functions and applications, and join an agile delivery team. The position can be based in WA or remotely within Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Mentor and coach team members, sharing knowledge with juniors
- Design, code and test software for wagering platforms and customer-facing channels
- Support and maintain production systems in an agile team
- Develop new features and enhancements from the squad's prioritised backlog
- Take part in stand-ups, technical and business showcases, sprint planning and retrospectives
- Ensure high quality and conformance in agile iterative delivery
Required profile
- At least 4 years of demonstrated experience in a similar development role
- Strong experience designing, coding and testing C# services and applications across .NET versions
- Knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, Python and/or YAML, and understanding of application analysis, design, development and deployment
- Hands-on AWS experience (EC2, ECS, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation)
- Experience building highly available, scalable, high-performance cloud systems
- Agile knowledge or experience; willingness to take on-call support
- Australian Working Rights; no visa sponsorship offered
