Technical Officer / Civil Designer (12D) – Rail

About the role

The Brisbane Rail team at AECOM is seeking a Technical Officer / Civil Designer to contribute to major rail infrastructure projects. You will work on design and drafting tasks using 12D and other industry tools, delivering high‑quality outputs in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed civil design drawings and technical documentation for multidisciplinary rail projects.
• Support project delivery by ensuring design outputs meet client and project expectations.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers, receiving mentorship to develop technical and project delivery skills.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant technical experience in rail or related infrastructure design.
• Recognised technical qualification such as an Associate Degree or Bachelor of Engineering Technology.
• Strong commitment to learning, ability to work independently on complex design problems, and excellent communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 12D design software.
• Experience using AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with ProjectWise (advantageous).
