Technical Claims Specialist

About the role

Join Marsh's JLT Public Sector team in Melbourne to provide technical claims advice and coordinate claim activity for complex, high‑value liability matters. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support complex liability claims from notification through settlement.
• Provide high‑quality technical guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors and other stakeholders to progress matters.
• Interpret policy wording and assess coverage considerations.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and correspondence throughout the claims lifecycle.

Required profile

• Law degree.
• Experience managing complex liability claims, including public liability and professional indemnity.
• Knowledge of liability frameworks such as the Wrongs Act and relevant common‑law principles.
• Proven ability to engage with clients, legal counsel and industry partners.
• Proactive approach with strong prioritisation skills.

• Analysis of claims data to identify patterns and produce actionable reports.
