Technical Claims Specialist

About the role

Join Marsh's JLT Public Sector team in Melbourne as a Technical Claims Specialist. This hybrid position requires at least three days per week in the office and involves providing technical claims advice, coordinating claim activity, and guiding clients through complex, high‑value liability claims.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and support complex, high‑value insurance claims from notification through settlement.
• Provide high‑quality technical claims guidance to clients and internal teams.
• Liaise with insurers, loss adjusters, solicitors and other stakeholders to progress matters effectively.
• Interpret policy wording and assess claim coverage considerations.
• Maintain accurate records, reporting and correspondence throughout the claims lifecycle.

Required profile

• Law degree.
• Experience managing complex liability claims, including public liability and professional indemnity.
• Knowledge of liability frameworks such as the Wrongs Act and relevant common‑law principles.
• Proven ability to engage with clients, legal counsel and industry partners.
• Proactive approach with strong prioritisation skills.
