Team Manager - Water Resources

About the role

AECOM is looking for an experienced Team Manager to join its South East Queensland Water Resources team. The role combines technical project delivery, client engagement and business development with leading and developing a high-performing team. You will work closely with the Sector Manager and be supported by People Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex flood, drainage and water resources projects
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance across project teams
• Build strong client relationships and support business development opportunities
• Manage team workload, resourcing and workshare to achieve business objectives
• Identify capability gaps and support training, professional development and succession planning
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture and support career development discussions
• Promote collaboration across business lines and regions, and contribute to sector strategy, pipeline planning and resource forecasting

Required profile

• Background in Flood Engineering or Drainage Engineering, approximately 13+ years of consulting experience
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and mentoring technical professionals
• Strong commercial awareness, balancing project delivery and team performance
• CPEng and RPEQ accreditation (or the ability to obtain them)

Required skills

• Software such as TUFLOW, RORB, HEC-RAS, DRAINS, 12d, XP-STORM, MUSIC, MIKE Flood and GIS platforms
• Knowledge of ARR, QUDM, TMR Drainage Manual requirements and relevant Australian Standards
