Civil Trainee - Road Construction (Gold Coast)

About the role

Protech is recruiting a Civil Trainee for a 3-year traineeship based on the Gold Coast, with an immediate start and hands-on experience. You will be hosted by a Government Organisation that supports and mentors you throughout the traineeship, working alongside experienced crews on road construction and maintenance projects. The traineeship leads to a nationally recognised Certificate III in Civil Construction.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general labouring tasks across road construction and maintenance projects
• Assist crews with civil and roadwork activities
• Set up and pack down site equipment and work zones
• Use hand and power tools under supervision
• Maintain a safe and tidy work environment
• Work as part of a team and follow workplace health and safety procedures
• Complete the theory and practical requirements of the traineeship

Required profile

• Current driver's licence
• Genuine interest in building a career in civil construction
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn; previous civil, labouring or construction experience is highly regarded but not essential
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug test
• Two recent, contactable work references
