Taxation Assistant (Mandarin or Cantonese Speaking)

About the role

A well-established Chartered Accounting (CA) firm based in Homebush is seeking a Mandarin or Cantonese speaking Taxation Assistant. It suits an accounting graduate or junior accountant who wants hands-on experience and mentorship in tax and business services within a public practice. You will work directly with experienced accountants and partners on tax compliance and general accounting, with exposure to individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with tax returns, BAS/IAS and financial statements
• Maintain the general ledger, enter data and perform bank reconciliations
• Handle ATO correspondence and basic client queries
• Support senior staff with tax planning, compliance and reporting
• Provide ad hoc administrative support

Required profile

• Degree qualified or currently studying Accounting
• 0-2 years' experience in a public practice or tax environment
• Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn and good time management
• Clear, professional communication skills

Required skills

• Experience with MYOB, Xero or HandiTax is highly regarded
