Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead the Finance and Administration teams for Harvey Norman® Online, ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting strategic decision‑making. Reporting to the Director, you will manage month‑end processes, budgeting, and profitability analysis for the e‑commerce business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage month‑end reporting, profit & loss statements and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare annual budgets, update forecasts and analyse performance against targets.
• Develop project‑based financial evaluations, including NPV, payback and scenario analysis.
• Strengthen internal controls, governance frameworks and compliance processes.
• Analyse profitability of each business unit, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions to grow revenue.
• Collaborate on contract negotiations to ensure favourable commercial terms.
• Oversee monthly supplier statement reconciliations and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years post‑CPA or CA qualification experience in a chartered accounting firm or large retail organisation.
• Experience with financial processes of an e‑commerce business and strong analytical commentary skills.
• Commercial mindset with leadership, curiosity and a drive for continuous improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, relationship‑building and negotiation abilities.
