Commercial Manager - Grosvenor Mine

About the role

Anglo American Australia is recruiting a Commercial Manager for its Grosvenor Mine, an underground steelmaking coal mine in Moranbah, Queensland. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a key site senior leadership role that acts as a critical partner to Operations, driving financial performance, strengthening governance and shaping strategic decisions. The mine is planning a return to longwall production by Q4 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic commercial leadership and partner with operations to optimise performance, cost discipline and value delivery
• Own the site's financial performance, ensuring robust governance, accurate reporting and full compliance
• Lead planning, budgeting and forecasting cycles
• Drive data-led performance analysis and lead capital governance and prioritisation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with Joint Venture partners and key external stakeholders
• Lead, coach and build capability within the finance team

Required profile

• Degree in Business, Accounting or Economics (CA/CPA highly regarded)
• Proven financial leadership experience in capital-intensive environments
• Proven capability in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, governance and internal controls
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders, including operational leaders, JV partners and external partners
• Experience leading teams and advanced capability in financial governance, internal controls and IFRS compliance
