Financial Accountant (Hybrid)

About the role

A Financial Accountant is sought to join a collaborative, fast-paced organisation in Homebush, New South Wales, reporting to the Financial Controller. The role covers month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting and compliance, with extensive stakeholder management and partnership with department managers to oversee cost centres and monitor financial performance. It is a hybrid position.

Key responsibilities

• Manage monthly financial close, including journals, reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
• Prepare monthly management reports, analyse results and investigate budget variances.
• Oversee cost centres and partner with department managers to monitor expenditure and performance.
• Provide financial guidance to non-finance managers and build stakeholder relationships.
• Assist with annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting.
• Coordinate audit preparation and reporting obligations.
• Oversee payroll operations, reconciliations and regulatory reporting.
• Maintain financial records, including balance sheet accounts and fixed assets, and support statutory reporting and compliance.
• Support financial analysis, reporting improvements and ad hoc projects, and identify ways to streamline processes and strengthen controls.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline; CPA or CA qualification, or working towards professional accreditation.
• Approximately 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, in industry or from professional services.
• Sound understanding of Australian accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
• Full Australian working rights and willingness to complete employment screening.
