Tax Manager – Advisory & Consulting

About the role

PKF is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join its growing Tax Consulting team. Based primarily in Newcastle (with flexibility for Sydney), you will work with a diverse portfolio of corporate, private and family business clients, providing strategic tax advice and helping shape the future of the team.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality tax consulting and advisory services to corporate, private and family business clients.
• Advise on corporate tax matters, business structuring, restructures and transaction‑related tax advice.
• Support due diligence engagements, tax consolidations, permanent establishments, tax treaties, capital gains tax and Division 7A.
• Assist clients with tax governance, tax effect accounting and international tax issues such as Pillar Two, CFCs, hybrid mismatch rules and thin capitalisation.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.
• Coach, mentor and develop junior team members.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 2 years local experience as a Tax Manager in a professional services environment.
• Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience reviewing and managing technical work prepared by junior staff.
• Previous experience in a Big 4 or mid‑tier accounting/advisory firm (highly regarded).
