Tax Controversy Specialist – Senior Associate/Manager

About the role

Join PwC Australia's Tax Controversy team to help leading multinationals and sophisticated private groups navigate complex disputes with the Australian Taxation Office. You will work on high‑profile, technically challenging matters, supporting clients from risk reviews through to audits, objections and appeals.

Key responsibilities

• Manage taxpayer disputes involving revenue authorities and other government agencies.
• Prepare and manage responses to information requests and position papers, engaging with authorities on evidence and technical tax issues.
• Collaborate with specialists across tax practices and industry teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Mentor and support junior team members in developing their technical and professional skills.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Australian tax law with a proven ability to manage and resolve tax audits and disputes.
• Confidence interpreting, critically analysing and applying the law with rigour and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for effective engagement with colleagues, clients, counsel and revenue authorities.
• Innovative mindset and willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
