Systems Administrator

About the role

The Systems Administrator will provide hands‑on IT and systems administration support for Flying Bark Productions’ studio and its production pipelines, ensuring reliable hardware, software and network services for artists and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily systems administration and technical support to production artists and staff.
• Manage core infrastructure including MS Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, public cloud storage, and on‑premises virtualization.
• Monitor ticketing system, identify incident patterns and resolve underlying issues.
• Maintain storage servers (ZFS, Editshare) and ensure network health and security.
• Build new hardware, deploy software and develop scripts to automate administrative tasks.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years senior sysadmin experience in a medium to large enterprise (Linux & Windows Server).
• Minimum 5 years experience with enterprise storage systems and 3‑5 years in post‑production or VFX environments.
• Experience working under security standards such as ISM, ISO/IEC 2700X or Trusted Partner Network.
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining clear communication with production and technology teams.

Required skills

• Active Directory, DHCP, DNS on Windows Server.
• Public cloud services and on‑premises virtualization.
• Storage technologies: ZFS, Editshare.
• Scripting for automation (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Application support: Autodesk Maya, Foundry Nuke, Pixar Tractor, Adobe Suite, Avid MediaComposer, Arnold.
