About the role
The Supreme Court Registrar is a senior legal professional responsible for the efficient management of civil, criminal and appeal matters within the Supreme Court of Western Australia. This full‑time permanent position reports to the Chief Justice and supports the administration of justice across the state.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee case management for civil, criminal and appeal proceedings in line with court procedures.
- Mediates disputes to achieve settlements where appropriate.
- Tax bills of costs, pass accounts, and conduct examinations and enquiries.
- Settle judgments and orders, and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
- Research and analyse legal and operational issues affecting court processes.
Required profile
- Admission as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, or eligibility for admission.
- Minimum five (5) years post‑admission legal experience.
- Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
- Demonstrated knowledge of civil and criminal procedures, case management and alternative dispute resolution.
