Supply Chain Lead

About the role

Hypersonix is seeking a Supply Chain Lead to own procurement, supplier relationships and material flow for its DART flight and ground hardware programmes. You will shape the function from the ground up, managing orders, strengthening supplier capability and building the processes needed as the company moves from prototype builds to repeatable production.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end procurement across the full commodity range, from RFQs and negotiations to purchase orders, expediting and delivery.
• Build and manage a reliable supplier network, including onboarding, due‑diligence, performance reviews and development of alternative sources for high‑risk, long‑lead items.
• Oversee goods receipt, stores, inventory accuracy and BOM kitting, coordinating inspections and handling non‑conforming goods with Quality.
• Manage domestic and international freight, dangerous goods, import/export documentation and customs clearance.
• Lead the Material Handler, ensuring safe stores operations and planning future team capacity as the function grows.
• Act as the supply‑chain owner for Silkline and Manufacturo, maintaining accurate purchasing, supplier, pricing and inventory data and providing clear reporting on material status and supply risk.

Required profile

• 5+ years in supply chain or technical procurement for engineered hardware in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in an SME or start‑up supply‑chain role with hands‑on ownership of the whole process.
• Background in low‑volume, high‑mix, regulated or high‑reliability settings such as defence, aerospace or medical devices.
• Proven ability to read 2D engineering drawings and specifications and to negotiate with suppliers.
• Experience supervising at least one direct report.
• Right to live and work in Australia and ability to pass security clearances.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with MRP/ERP systems (Silkline, Manufacturo or similar) for BOM‑driven demand, purchase orders and inventory transactions.
• Supplier negotiation, expediting and performance management.
• Inventory management, goods receipt and traceability under ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.
• Reading and interpreting 2‑D engineering drawings and specifications.
