Strategic Research Cluster Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Science)

About the role

The Faculty of Science at UNSW is inviting outstanding researchers to join its Strategic Research Cluster Initiative. Appointed as a Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will be based in Sydney and work within a host School that aligns with your disciplinary expertise while contributing to interdisciplinary research programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead internationally competitive research projects within a strategic cluster.
• Collaborate across Schools to build interdisciplinary partnerships addressing societal challenges.
• Secure external research funding and manage internal grant opportunities.
• Contribute to research‑led teaching and supervise graduate students.
• Participate in mentorship, career development activities, and cluster governance.

Required profile

• PhD or equivalent research qualification in a scientific discipline.
• Strong record of high‑quality publications and research impact.
• Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience in obtaining research funding and leading research teams.
