Specialist Solution Engineer, Data & Analytics

About the role

Salesforce is hiring a Specialist Solution Engineer for Tableau and its family of products (Tableau Cloud, Tableau Server, Tableau Next and CRM Analytics) in Australia and New Zealand. You will be the subject matter expert, helping organisations turn data into decisions for people and AI agents. You partner with Account Executives and Solution Engineers, supporting deals from discovery calls to storytelling demos and hands-on workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to understand customer goals, manage several engagements at once across ANZ and build relationships with business leaders, analysts, data architects and data engineers.
• Run discovery sessions and workshops, build prototypes and customised demos, and show how metrics and business rules can be defined once and reused.
• Demo Tableau Agent and natural-language analytics in Tableau Studio, and show how Tableau MCP connects trusted data to assistants such as Slack, Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot.
• Build generative AI and governed semantics into customer architectures from the start.
• Contribute technical responses to RFPs, RFIs and RFTs, share knowledge with Solution Engineering and Product, and represent Tableau at customer events and user groups.

Required profile

• 3+ years in technical pre-sales, consulting, customer success, analytics or data roles, plus a relevant degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or similar).
• Confident presenter in person and online, able to explain business value, handle technical objections and run multiple sales cycles at once.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with Tableau, CRM Analytics or similar tools (Power BI, Looker), plus data modelling, semantic layers and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Working knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, prompt design, RAG and AI agents, and how MCP servers connect AI assistants to enterprise data.
• Nice to have: Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Informatica, Tableau Semantics, dbt, Data 360, Agentforce, Tableau certifications, and a track record of demos and PoCs.
