Sous Chef – Hotel Kitchen Leadership

About the role

AccorHotel is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at its newly transformed Novotel, Mercure and ibis Darwin Airport Resorts. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you will help deliver exceptional dining experiences for guests and support the overall operational effectiveness of the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee kitchen operations in the Executive Chef’s absence, ensuring smooth service delivery.
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team, fostering a high‑performing environment.
• Support menu planning, maintain stock levels and control food costs.
• Ensure food presentation, quality, hygiene and safety meet regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with restaurant and conference teams for seamless event catering.

Required profile

• Trade qualification with at least 2 years of similar hotel kitchen experience.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to manage a team.
• Computer literate with basic administrative skills.
• Strong understanding of food cost control and food safety requirements.
