Sous Chef - Café Operations

About the role

Anglicare Sydney is looking for a Sous Chef for its The Terraces facility in Paddington. The role takes ownership of daily café operations, from food preparation to service delivery, and creates high-quality meals and dining experiences for residents, guests and community members. It focuses on food safety, quality and service excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality food and service that meets customer expectations
• Plan and coordinate café operations, including menus and stock ordering
• Manage customer queries proactively and provide timely solutions
• Maintain compliance with HACCP, WHS and food safety regulations
• Monitor budgets, contribute to sales and marketing initiatives and suggest process improvements
• Lead and support café staff through on-the-job training and teamwork

Required profile

• Commercial Cookery Certificate or equivalent
• Minimum four years' experience in the food industry
• Passionate, experienced chef with a flair for customer service and teamwork
• Preferred: experience in aged care, retirement living or café environments

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards
• Excellent communication and literacy skills
• Computer skills (Microsoft Office preferred)
• Collaborative and positive approach to leading and supporting others
