Solutions Engineer - Splunk Shared Services (Sydney)

About the role

Cisco's Splunk team helps organisations turn data into action through security, observability and digital resilience solutions. As a Solutions Engineer in the APJC Geo Solutions Engineering team, you will support customer engagements across Australia and New Zealand, working with Account Executives, other engineers, partners and customers. The role suits someone wanting to grow a customer-facing technical career across the Splunk portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Sales and Solutions Engineering teams to support customer engagements across ANZ.
• Take part in customer discovery conversations to understand business goals, technical challenges and desired outcomes.
• Deliver demonstrations aligned to customer requirements and use cases.
• Support workshops, proof-of-concept activities and technical validation engagements.
• Build dashboards, searches and use cases that show practical customer outcomes.
• Help customers understand the value of Splunk across Security, Observability and IT Operations.
• Collaborate with account teams, partners and internal stakeholders, identify challenges and recommend next steps.

Required profile

• Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Presales, Technical Consulting, Professional Services, Customer Success, Technical Support or Engineering.
• Experience working with customers to understand requirements, solve technical challenges and deliver results.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain technical concepts to technical and business audiences.
• Problem-solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Preferred: Splunk or similar security, analytics, monitoring or observability platforms.
• Preferred: delivering demonstrations, workshops or proof-of-concept engagements.
• Preferred: search and query languages such as SPL, SQL or similar.
• Preferred: cloud technologies and/or DevOps, automation, scripting or API integrations.
• Preferred: industry certifications in Security, Cloud, Observability or related technologies.
