Senior Frontend Engineer - React.js

About the role

Shift, which provides business finance to Australian businesses, is looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer with a passion for React and TypeScript and a solid understanding of back-end development. You will work closely with designers, product managers and backend engineers to build intuitive, high-quality user experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Build and enhance polished user interfaces using React and TypeScript
• Optimise user flows and apply product and design thinking to every feature
• Integrate with APIs and back-end services and contribute to back-end development as needed
• Shape and deliver new features with the team based on user needs
• Help ensure the reliability, maintainability and scalability of the platforms
• Take part in code reviews, technical discussions and architectural decisions
• Advocate for best practices in code quality, testing, accessibility and continuous improvement

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience building production software, with a strong focus on front-end development
• Back-end development experience in any language, with a solid understanding of front-end and back-end integration
• Experience working with APIs and microservices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, and a proactive mindset comfortable with autonomy

Required skills

• Advanced React and TypeScript in production environments
• Ideally experience with Azure, DevOps tooling or C#/.NET (not required)
