Site Manager / Village Manager – Remote Catering

About the role

Cater Care manages catering and accommodation services for remote mining villages across Australia and is looking for experienced hospitality leaders for its Village Management roles. The position is based at the Point of Hire in Rockhampton, QLD (DIDO), with a roster of 14 days on, 7 days off, and a salary range of $100,000-$130,000.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all site and contract-scoped accommodation and catering services.
• Oversee accommodation reservation systems (VAMS, SAMS, RMS) smoothly and efficiently.
• Take full responsibility for financial performance and P&L, focusing on labour and food costs.
• Foster strong client relationships and ensure exceptional customer service.
• Lead, develop and mentor the on-site team.

Required profile

• Stable, progressive management experience in a remote or village environment.
• Resilient, professional attitude with a commitment to genuine customer service.
• Ability to work long hours and adapt to varying heat, cold and humidity.
• Strict adherence to food and general safety practices.

Required skills

• Exceptional administrative skills and experience with accommodation reservation systems.
• Strong financial acumen and a track record of managing P&L.
• Highly desirable: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, manual driver's licence and forklift ticket.
