Site Manager – New Build Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead $60m+ new build projects in Sydney, delivering high‑end residential or industrial developments from planning through to completion. The role reports to a Senior Project Manager and requires ownership of safety, quality, schedule and cost on large‑scale sites.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions for all staff and subcontractors.
• Complete daily site diary entries and maintain accurate records.
• Review and manage key project issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Liaise with statutory bodies and ensure all required notifications are submitted.
• Establish and maintain site compound, amenities and logistics.
• Organise site inspections with clients, authorities and consultants.
• Assist the Senior Project Manager in preparing scopes of work.
• Interpret head and subcontractor contracts, focusing on timeframes.
• Produce and manage defect lists for subcontractors prior to finishing works.
• Oversee quality, programme delivery, cost control and overall site logistics.

Required profile

• Trade or building‑related qualification.
• 5–10 years’ experience in site supervision of construction projects, including planning, programming and managing onsite staff/subcontractors.
• Construction Safety Induction (White) card and Senior First Aid Certificate.
• Desirable: Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Strong knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards for building sites.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
