Energy Advisory Manager

About the role

As an Energy Advisory Manager in Aurecon’s Infrastructure & Energy Advisory team, you will lead complex advisory engagements that help clients navigate Australia’s evolving energy market. Based in Sydney, you will work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver clear recommendations on how energy is supplied, priced and secured.

Key responsibilities

• Lead energy market and techno‑economic modelling projects from problem definition to recommendation delivery.
• Design and oversee models for grid‑connected, behind‑the‑meter, hybrid and off‑grid power supply solutions.
• Integrate technical, commercial and market insights to assess client options, risks and investment decisions.
• Manage client relationships, communicate findings to senior stakeholders and shape proposals for future opportunities.
• Contribute to technical due diligence, energy strategy, electrification and decarbonisation projects.
• Coach and develop junior team members while fostering an inclusive team culture.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, commerce, science, economics, public policy or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Australian energy markets and power systems.
• Experience building and applying techno‑economic models using tools such as Excel or Python.
• Proven ability to assess power‑supply solutions for major energy users or generation projects.
• Demonstrated experience leading advisory engagements and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Collaborative leadership style with a focus on coaching and development.
