Site Engineer – Defence Infrastructure

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Building Engineer to oversee the delivery and management of critical defence infrastructure. The role involves ensuring design intent is met throughout construction and supporting the transition to operational use.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to engineering oversight of new‑build facilities, ensuring design intent is achieved.
• Support construction activities, including site inspections, quality assurance and compliance checks.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants and project teams to resolve technical issues and keep the project on schedule.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
• Ensure all systems meet defence standards, codes and operational requirements.
• Assist in preparing handover documentation, asset registers and maintenance strategies.
• Facilitate smooth transition from construction to operational phases.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship and ability to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
• Experience as a Building Engineer on new‑build projects.
• Familiarity with defence infrastructure standards and operational requirements.
