Service Technician - Compressor Industry

About the role

A leading international company in the compressor industry, which supplies products and solutions such as air compressors for soda water production and cooling systems for food and pharmaceutical storage, is looking for an experienced Service Technician in Sydney. The role covers field service, maintenance and support of compressors.

Key responsibilities

• Provide after-hours call-out assistance and callback availability when rostered on duty.
• Conduct overnight field trips to service breakdowns, maintenance and customer support.
• Install, repair and maintain the range of compressors, and carry out technical preventative maintenance and general service work.
• Pass sales leads to sales staff.
• Keep company-owned equipment and premises clean, presentable and serviceable.
• Train, support, coach and mentor new and existing colleagues.
• Conduct risk assessments, take part in and run safety audits for assigned areas, and keep the workplace safe.

Required profile

• Cert III in Fitter and Turner with at least 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial air compressors and carrying out full-machine installation and overhaul projects.
• Knowledge of compressors or similar equipment is essential.

Required skills

• Ability to communicate technical and product information.
• Intermediate computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
