Senior/Principal Structural Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in the Gold Coast to deliver major water and wastewater projects across Australia. As a Senior/Principal Structural Engineer you will lead technical design, mentor engineers and work closely with clients to ensure high‑quality, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions for complex water and wastewater infrastructure, from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Balance technical quality, programme schedules and budgets while providing technical assurance.
• Build trusted client relationships, contribute to business development and proposal preparation.
• Mentor and support developing engineers, fostering technical excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural engineering, preferably within the water sector.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical delivery and team mentoring.
• Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards.
• Chartered registration (CPEng/RPEQ) is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Structural analysis software such as SpaceGass and/or Strand7.
• Australian structural design standards.
