Senior Unified Communications Engineer

About the role

Datacom is looking for a Senior Unified Communications Engineer to provide onsite IP voice and UC support for a client's environment, handling day-to-day issues and troubleshooting so that business operations run smoothly. The role is based in Perth, Australia, and takes place at the customer's premises.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare site design documentation for new sites, including equipment and site parameters, under supervision
• Manage the integration of new sites into the operational network
• Monitor and manage network performance and perform reconfiguration work as required
• Plan and execute large-scale network changes
• Keep the Team Leader informed on design and performance issues within the scope of responsibility
• Complete special projects such as evaluating new technology tools and developing practices and procedures

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in a field related to voice and UC support
• Professional or tertiary qualification in Communications Engineering, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• Australian citizenship required for clearances
• Ability to work closely within a team and present technical information clearly to different audiences

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of one or more of: Webex, Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connection, Cisco CUBEs, Cisco VCS, Cisco Unified Attendant Console, UCCX (Cisco Contact Centre Express)
• Cisco CCNA or CCNP (Voice/Collaboration) qualification
• Knowledge of industry standards and government regulations relevant to data communications and networking
• Working knowledge of VOSS4UC for provisioning, administration and lifecycle management in a Cisco Unified Communications environment
