Network and Unified Communications Manager

About the role

The Network and Unified Communications Manager will lead the design, implementation and optimisation of a leading healthcare network environment at Fiona Stanley Hospital. You will ensure reliable, secure and efficient wired, wireless and voice services for thousands of staff, clinicians and patients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design and management of network and UC infrastructure, including capacity planning and performance optimisation.
• Manage and develop a high‑performing team of network engineers and specialists.
• Embed cybersecurity and zero‑trust principles across all network layers.
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to deliver best‑in‑class connectivity.
• Guide network automation and adoption of emerging technologies such as SD‑WAN and SASE.
• Ensure network resilience through business continuity and disaster recovery planning.

Required profile

• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop technical teams while handling people matters with professionalism and empathy.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or equivalent experience.
• Current Cisco CCNP certification (Enterprise, Collaboration, Data Centre or Wireless).
• Experience in a healthcare or critical service environment is preferred.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in routing, switching, wireless and voice technologies, including Cisco CUCM.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid environments.
• Advanced knowledge of network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
• ITIL Foundation certification (desirable) and CCIE (desirable).
