Senior Technical Officer - School of Translational Medicine

About the role

The School of Translational Medicine at Monash University's Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences is recruiting a Senior Technical Officer (Job No. 699288) for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time position at The Alfred Centre. Reporting to the School Research & Operations Manager, the officer oversees and delivers significant research-related activities and provides high-level laboratory and facility operations support for researchers, staff, students and onsite facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and oversee the school's physical resources, research ethics monitoring, compliance and laboratory adherence to OHS&E policies
• Provide strategic and operational advice to clients and deliver efficient technical services
• Keep up to date with specialist technical knowledge of new compliance frameworks and accreditation requirements
• Manage budget, plan and contribute to funding proposals
• Manage ongoing equipment service contracts

Required profile

• Degree qualification in a relevant field with extensive relevant experience
• Experience overseeing a successful technical service, program or facility, with a focus on operational excellence
• Experience supporting a safe operating environment and implementing OHS requirements
• Valid Working with Children Check and a satisfactory Police Check
