Senior Tax Advisory Consultant

About the role

KPMG Australia is looking for a Senior Consultant to join its Tax Advisory team in Sydney. You will work with a diverse private and mid‑market client base, helping them navigate complex tax legislation and achieve their business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver income tax returns for companies, trusts, private groups and corporate groups.
• Provide tax advisory services on restructures, M&A, international expansion and other strategic initiatives.
• Support ATO reviews and audits by preparing technical responses and documentation.
• Deliver tax risk management and governance frameworks for businesses and groups.
• Conduct technical tax research and apply legislation, ATO guidance and case law to client scenarios.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts.
• Commercially minded, proactive and client‑focused.
• Experience in income tax compliance and advisory within a professional services or corporate environment.
• CA/CPA qualification or progress towards it, with relevant tertiary education.
