Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Structural Design Engineer will lead the design and delivery of industrial and commercial projects, focusing on structural steel, reinforced concrete and precast structures. This permanent full‑time position involves the full project lifecycle from concept through construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake concept, tender and detailed structural design of steel, concrete and precast elements.
• Prepare design details, documentation for drafters and engineering reports as required.
• Coordinate engineering activities with drafters, project teams and external consultants.
• Liaise with architects, builders, fabricators and panel suppliers; attend project and client meetings.
• Provide technical advice, respond to RFIs, contractor queries and conduct site inspections.
• Review and check own designs, perform peer and independent design reviews, and verify work of other engineers.
• Ensure compliance with Australian Standards, NCC, project requirements and company QA procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in structural design of steel, reinforced concrete and precast structures.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and the National Construction Code.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders while providing technical leadership.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and client‑relationship skills.
