Senior Solutions Engineer - Payments

About the role

Airwallex is looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to lead technical pre‑sales for complex payments and financial product implementations. Based in Sydney with a hybrid schedule, you will work across APAC to turn business requirements into robust solution designs and guide customers from discovery through go‑live.

Key responsibilities

• Act as trusted technical advisor for high‑value implementations, shaping integration approaches and system configuration.
• Partner with implementation and account teams to translate requirements into scalable architectures.
• Collaborate with sales on technical discovery, recommending best‑fit integration blueprints using APIs and third‑party connectors.
• Hands‑on troubleshooting of integration hurdles and guiding complex configuration decisions.
• Create and maintain internal documentation, playbooks and tooling to support integration‑heavy use cases.
• Channel customer feedback into Product and Engineering to influence roadmap.

Required profile

• 8+ years of technical pre‑sales or client‑facing delivery experience in SaaS, fintech or consulting.
• Proven track record delivering cross‑functional projects with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to lead meetings and influence decisions.
