Senior Software Engineer - Salesforce

About the role

Telstra is hiring a Senior Software Engineer on a 9-month fixed-term contract, which can be based anywhere in Australia. You will bring strong hands-on Salesforce expertise and contribute to technical design, engineering standards and continuous improvement, while sharing your knowledge and giving technical guidance to other developers. You will design, develop and maintain complex Salesforce applications and integrations, working with product, UX/UI, QA and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing Salesforce applications using Apex and related technologies.
• Build and maintain inbound and outbound integrations using Salesforce APIs, REST, SOAP and integration patterns.
• Contribute across requirements, solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, UX/UI, QA and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Take part in design reviews and improve development practices, standards and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other developers.

Required profile

• Experienced software engineer with strong Salesforce development capability and a practical approach to complex technical problems.
• Ideally strong software development experience, including hands-on Salesforce application development.
• Experience building Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP and other patterns.
• Working knowledge of CPQ, with exposure to Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud and/or Community Cloud highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, Apex, SOQL, APIs, security and development best practices.
• Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to automated testing frameworks.
