Senior Software Engineer (Backend) - AI/ML

About the role

The AI/ML Engineering team at ClickHouse is looking for a senior backend engineer to design, build, and operate AI‑powered features across the ClickHouse Cloud platform. You will work on everything from inference services to developer tools, helping make ClickHouse the preferred platform for data scientists and agents.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑driven backend services and APIs that integrate with ClickHouse’s database capabilities.
• Develop robust, scalable API architectures connecting internal and external AI/ML inference systems.
• Integrate and maintain ecosystem connections with popular AI/ML frameworks and tools.
• Deploy models to production with monitoring, versioning, observability, and evaluation.
• Participate in daytime on‑call rotation and contribute to developer experience tooling.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production software engineering experience.
• Strong ownership mindset, able to drive features from concept to production with minimal supervision.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience working in collaborative, fast‑moving engineering teams.
