Senior Python Developer – Vulnerability Management Platform

About the role

Join the Detection Engineering team within Macquarie's Vulnerability Management service to design, develop and maintain a greenfield platform using a modern tech stack. You will drive the future of the vulnerability management platform and help create a collaborative environment for identifying, analysing and mitigating vulnerabilities across a multi‑cloud environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain a scalable, cloud‑native backend platform.
• Implement microservices architecture with Kubernetes and CI/CD best practices.
• Integrate security and operational tooling across multi‑cloud environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to enhance vulnerability detection and remediation workflows.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with strong Python expertise.
• Proven ability to design, build and maintain scalable backend systems.
• Solid background in microservices, Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with cloud‑native environments and integrating security tooling.
• Commitment to high‑quality, reliable code through testing and automation.
• Experience with data engineering platforms (e.g., cloud data lakes, Apache Iceberg, Airflow, dbt) is a strong advantage.
