Senior Project Officer - Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Systems

About the role

A federal health agency in Australia, which protects public health through national disease surveillance, preparedness and response, has a labour hire contract for an APS6 Senior Project Officer. You will take end-to-end ownership of project and contract management for two national antimicrobial resistance surveillance systems, working directly with the Program Manager. The contract runs until 30 June 2028 with an option to extend by up to 12 months.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project and program coordination across AURA programming in support of the Program Manager
• Manage service provider and ICT contracts, including procurement and funding administration
• Coordinate the onboarding and reintegration of contributing laboratories into the surveillance systems
• Oversee data governance, including data access arrangements and data requests
• Support the development and publication of reports, publications and communications
• Coordinate data dashboards and analytics activities
• Maintain operational resources and user access, and provide broader administrative support as required

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in project or contract management in a government or technical environment at APS6 level or above
• Experience managing service provider or ICT contracts, including procurement and funding administration
• Experience with data governance, including data access and data requests
• Strong stakeholder engagement and clear written communication skills
• Ability to take ownership and manage competing priorities without close supervision
• Baseline security clearance; knowledge of public health, microbiology or laboratory settings is desirable but not essential
