Senior Project Manager - Transport Infrastructure

About the role

Randstad is recruiting, on behalf of a Queensland Government department responsible for the construction, development and maintenance of local assets, a Level 7 Senior Project Manager for transport infrastructure. The position is a full-time contract until October 2027, with a view to extension, paid $120-$140 per hour plus superannuation. You will oversee projects from design through to delivery, working with the Construction Manager and Delivery Managers.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee design through to delivery of assigned projects and programs, keeping them within budget, time, quality and scope.
• Liaise with Construction and Delivery Managers, resolve issues, negotiate outcomes and give technical advice to non-technical staff.
• Plan, design and construct civil transport infrastructure, handle land acquisition and statutory processes.
• Negotiate complex contracts and manage service level agreements.
• Contribute to strategic asset management and infrastructure policy development.
• Coordinate with internal providers, State Government and utilities.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Bachelor of Project Management, Engineering or Construction).
• Demonstrated high-level project management, transport and traffic engineering skills and experience with complex projects.
• Strong negotiation, consultation, networking and communication skills, including with senior management, councillors and the public.
• Sound knowledge of financial management, cost and time management and budget development.
• Experience leading project teams fairly and guiding less experienced staff.
• Current C class driver's licence and a White Card (or equivalent).

Required skills

• Civil engineering, construction management and procurement knowledge.
• Application of WHS, environmental and quality policies.
• Microsoft Project and works management software such as SAP.
• Delivery and management of civil construction projects.
