Senior Quality Controller (Construction)

About the role

This role is responsible for quality inspection, testing and compliance verification on civil, structural, mechanical and piping fabrications and construction works, both on and off site. It also covers non-conformance management, documentation and coordination with project stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections, measurements and functional tests on civil, structural, mechanical and piping fabrications and construction works on and off site.
• Ensure all construction, fabrication and manufacturing align with quality standards, specifications and procedures.
• Identify, document and track defects and deviations, submit NCRs and coordinate corrective actions.
• Compile quality control plans and inspection check sheets, record inspection logs, test data and quality control packages, and prepare quality data books for audits and client hand-overs.
• Interface with project managers, contractors, service providers and clients on quality performance, status and resolutions.

Required profile

• Diploma in civil or mechanical engineering.
• Certificates in construction management, quality control and inspection; trade test (Section 26D/Section 13) is an advantage.
• At least 5 to 8 years' experience in a similar position within a construction project environment.
• Knowledge of HSEC systems and safety standards.
• Good verbal and written communication and analytical skills, including root cause analysis of defects.
• Medically fit, with a valid driver's licence, own transport and willingness to travel between sites.
