Senior Project Manager – Construction (Tier 2 Contractor)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a portfolio of transport and water infrastructure projects ranging from $5M to $10M, with the potential to grow to $20M+. You will work closely with Operations Managers and senior leadership to deliver high‑quality projects on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development activities, tender preparation and work‑winning initiatives.
• Recruit, build and manage project teams, ensuring appropriate resources are allocated.
• Develop comprehensive project programmes and communicate schedules to all stakeholders.
• Oversee project delivery from inception through completion, monitoring progress against programme and quality standards.
• Identify, assess and manage construction risks, escalating issues as required.
• Control project expenditure, cash flow and financial reporting.
• Manage design, contracts, subcontractors and HSEQ requirements on site.
• Produce regular progress reports and manage client expectations.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience delivering construction projects, preferably within Tier 1‑3 environments.
• Proven leadership ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong commercial acumen and experience in tendering, contracts and design management.
• In‑depth knowledge of local council and regulatory standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
