Senior Project Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Join a leading Australian building services contractor delivering complex mechanical services on large‑scale construction and infrastructure projects. This senior position will see you manage the mechanical services package from planning through to commissioning and handover, working closely with the head contractor, consultants and subcontractors.

Key responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of the mechanical services package across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate mechanical works with the head contractor, consultants and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation to ensure compliance.
• Manage RFIs, variations, procurement activities and maintain project documentation.
• Monitor programme milestones, quality outcomes and costs, reporting progress to stakeholders.
• Assist with testing, commissioning, handover and close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in mechanical engineering or building services.
• Background delivering major construction, defence, infrastructure or similarly complex projects.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Required skills

• Mechanical engineering principles applied to building services.
• Technical coordination of mechanical works.
• Project administration including RFIs, variations and procurement.
• Understanding of industry standards and specifications for mechanical services.
