Senior Project Engineer - FIFO

About the role

A privately owned Queensland civil construction company, which delivers small to medium infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, drainage and remote civil works, is seeking a FIFO Senior Project Engineer. The engineer works on projects valued between $2M and $10M, on a 2:1 roster, and reports to the project manager and supervisor. The role suits someone who wants hands-on site experience and a long-term career with a smaller, close-knit team.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, programme and resource the works
• Procure key subcontractors and suppliers and manage subcontractors
• Monitor quality assurance
• Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants
• Track and update the project programme against the contract baseline
• Handle progress claims and variations
• Report weekly and monthly
• Ensure safety and environmental standards are met

Required profile

• At least 6 years of civil infrastructure, main roads or similar experience for a civil contractor in similar conditions
• Relevant engineering qualifications
• Steady work history moving up through the ranks, delivering bulk earthworks, roads and structures to specification
• Ability to work FIFO on a 2:1 roster, based anywhere in Queensland and willing to travel
